Hello and thanks for stopping by!

I live and paint near the heart of the US, in Salina, Kansas.  

There’s a safety about this location that encourages me to step beyond the normal. I don’t pretend that my paintings are better than others. But they certainly are different from others. 

While I admire the skill of photorealist artists, I find I am bored when I try to paint perfection. I enjoy making marks that indicate they were made by a breathing human holding some type of tool. Sometimes I just leave marks as tiny signatures of my presence. 

My education has been rich in variety and breadth. Great instructors have taught me the basics and pushed me to experiment, evolving my artistic style as I go. I continue to explore the world around me and to attempt to represent it in my own unique way.
