May Basket

When I was young, we always made May baskets out of construction paper. We would pick wild violets and flowers from the yard, put them in our homemade basket with some candy, then deliver them to our neighbors. It was lots of fun and I got to know our neighbors. Most of them had cookies to share with me, my brother, and my sisters. This painting brings back all those memories for me. The basket is much larger and has many more flowers -- a very happy painting.
