The Curious Incident of the Dog

This painting was inspired by Mark Haddon's novel, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime." The novel was used as the focus of a city-wide reading program. Artists were invited to create something associated with that event. As I remembered one of the main characters displayed symptoms of autism. I chose to make important items from the novel the focus of my painting; a closet and long hidden letters which revealed important elements to the story. It almost makes this a painting of secrets.
