This is one of three remaining paintings based on photographs that I took of small sculptures in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. My reference photos were of small (8-10 inch sculptures) which were originally used as fertility aids, both male and female. Based on the small sculptures I photographed during a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
