I painted this as a depiction to what happens the minute after death. This painting was done for a show at the Salina Art Center concerning death and dying. I pictured people who had been in wheelchairs or restricted in some way physically at the point of breaking through death into new abilities to jump, dance, think and sing. I decided to create this event along a river. Actually I was in Colorado with my son trout fishing along a mountain stream when I envisioned at least part of this painting. The undergrowth along the sides and the water and sky, seemed to be bursting with life and trout.
